Wicked at San Diego Civic Theatre

Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, producers of WICKED, were inspired by the 1995 Gregory Maguire book "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West".

This broadway musical has been PRAISED for its detailed story of Oz, giving The Wizard of Oz fans around the globe a peek into Glinda and Elphaba (aka the Wicked Witch of the West). Wicked, even with the main characters starting off as enemies, it is a deep tale about friendship and acceptance. With stunning costume creation and jaw-dropping special effects, Wicked guides the audience direct to the wonderful world of Oz!

The broadway musical first premiered in 2003, making it 21 years old. Since its inception, Wicked has surpassed $1 BILLION in revenue on Broadway. Only The Phantom of the Opera & The Lion King have managed this incredible achievement. WICKED has also DOMINATED theaters outside of Broadway, with achievements in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and London.

Currently, WICKED is touring with a cast of Lauren Samuels as Elphaba, Austen Danielle Bohmer as Glinda, plus Blake Hammond as The Wizard.
