The show begins in Cob County, where an engaged couple named Maizy and Beau are planning their wedding. However, the celebration comes to a grinding halt when the towns corn suddenly starts to die. The almost newlyweds agree to postpone things and join the town in worrying about its crops.
Maizy decides to pursue an explanation in Florida. After she arrives in Tampa, she meets Gordy, who is pretending to be a corn doctor. Gordy promises to help her save her towns farm, even though he's only interested in her expensive bracelet to satisfy his mob debts - and drama ensues.
Shucked is a musical production that has been years in the making, with music and lyrics by Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark.
