Sarah Millican at San Diego Civic Theatre

Sarah Millican is an English comedian born and raised in South Shields, England. Her debut show was at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2008, her show was based off of her recent divorce and was titled “Sarah Millican’s Not Nice” and was an instant success with the audience. She won the ‘if.comedy’ award for best newcomer at this festival because of how big of a hit it was. She has this hilarious set that everyone wanted more of and this started off her career and a few of her fans have loved her ever since.

In 2009 she began previewing for her second show which attracted enthusiastic reviews on her material which was “Battle of the sexes” this is where she was also praised for her sharp observations of gender led behaviour, which was noted by a Newcastle newspaper company, the Journalist.

She went on to do a third dhow which was titled “Chatterbox” and this show was nominated for the main Edinburgh comedy award. She had a live DVD of the “Chatterbox” tour which was released in 2011 which went on to break an all-time record in sales for a female stand-up comedian and sold over one hundred and seventy two thousand copies in just one month! That is hectic!

Sarah Millican was nominated for the 2013 and 2014 BAFTA entertainment performance award for her work in her television program “The Sarah Millican Television Programme”. She was also in a celebrity episode of deal of no deal and she went on to win just over twenty four thousand dollars which she gave to charity. In 2019 she had started uploading clips from her stand-up comedy shows onto YouTube and as of 2022 she has over sixty five million views and over four hundred thousand subscribers.
