The Musical will be coming to you for a limited season in California, performing only in San Diego at San Diego Civic Theatre this summer. Don’t miss this stunning and dazzling show as it performs in your city and find out why Moulin Rouge is one of the top Broadway plays of all time this coming July.

Revolving around Christian and Satine and their forbidden affair, the musical is produced with a colorfully made stage design accurate for its late 19th century timeline, while expanding its musical score to not only include the original music from Baz Luhrmann's film, but also new arrangements of current pop songs that were not accessible when the original movie was released.
Loved by viewers as one of the finest performances from Broadway, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is only available for a limited period at San Diego Civic Theatre. Make sure you’re able to secure your seats and buy your seats while available for this Wednesday 2nd July 2025 showing!

During its brainstorming stage, Moulin Rouge! The Musical needed to meet high expectations of exceeding or at minimum being at par with the original film produced before it. The musical's current success tells us that Moulin Rouge! The Musical has more than lived up to the name with an impressive turnout each show from viewers all over the world. Broadway World’s Miranda Keating even lauded the musical after viewing, in quote, “To be frank, as as soon as the show began, I was instantly transported into the magical, beautiful world of the Moulin Rouge. When the final act concluded, I initially had nothing to say. I was absolutely enamored with what I just watched.” The musical carries on its productions to date, now reaching San Diego and to be performed at San Diego Civic Theatre on Wednesday 2nd July 2025, San Diego Civic Theatre renowned for being one of the country's unrivaled show venues with complete lighting and sound design, large seating capacity, and modern furnishings both for the interior and exterior of the theatre.
The musical's narrative itself is a rollercoaster with extreme emotion focused on Christian and Satine, an American composer moves to Montmartre, Paris to jumpstart his career as a writer and composer, and a star entertainer in the Moulin Rouge entertainment venue, respectively. They enter into a forbidden love as they get closer to each other, and it is in their dalliance that they endanger themselves because of a jealous benefactor, though their love for each other pushes them on.
In the duration of 2 hours and 45 minutes of the entire play, this show is shared mainly through song and dance, with amazing scoring from the creative team, which is a combination of mash-ups, medleys, and even classical numbers. Manchester Media Group stated that the musical is “an experience for the senses as soon as you arrive.” From the colorful opening number up to the last performance, the musical’s brilliance is very evident; add to that the fact that even the cast members are composed of singer Broadway veterans like Aaron Tveit and Karen Olivo leading the title roles of Christian and Satine and you have a worldwide phenomenon on your hands.
