Many lifelong fans of Neil Diamond still remember when his 1976 album, A Beautiful Noise, first dropped. Hit Broadway musical honoring Neil Diamond, is now coming to to San Diego for several shows at the iconic San Diego Civic Theatre in San Diego, California this spring.
The exciting performance delighted audiences from the very beginning with a engaging story and uplifting songs. The tale follows the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, starting in the present day with Westenberg inside in a therapist’s office. As Diamond, he explains how he can no longer sing like he used to while the doctor helps him cope with that realization throughout A Beautiful Noise. The story goes back to Diamond's Brooklyn childhood, showing his introduction to music and all memorable moments since then, including his rise to stardom and struggle with depression. But, what die-hard fans anticipate most is re-experiencing Diamond’s catalog of hits in the Neil Diamond Musical.

The setting for the musical is a therapist’s office, where Neil Diamond and a psychiatrist reminisce about his life and along the way reference his lyrics. The songs take on a life of their own, giving even the most loyal fans of Neil Diamond a new take on the lyrics.
The writers incorporate and tell the story of important milestones in Neil Diamond’s life through the introduction of each song. The show recreates his Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Broadway performance. Attendees experience the ups and downs of Neil Diamond’s growth in popularity. In fall of 2022 the show debuted on Broadway in Manhattan. Where is stayed through mid-2024. When the musical ended its run in NYC, the shows producers announced plans for a USA tour.
