How to get there 

The San Diego Civic Theatre is conveniently located in the heart of downtown San Diego at 1100 Third Ave, San Diego, CA 92101. It is accessible via car and has good public transportation links if you do not want to drive.

By car

If you want to travel there by car, don’t worry – plenty of parking lots and garages are near the venue. The most convenient choice is the Civic Center Parking Garage, located directly adjacent to the theater at 1200 Third Avenue. This garage offers plenty of parking spaces and easy access via a short walk. Additionally, there are multiple public lots within a few blocks.

• A Street Parking Garage (1350 6th Ave) – A short 5-minute walk from the venue.

• Ace Parking (225 Broadway) – Conveniently located near local dining spots for a pre-show meal.

• Park It on Market (614 Market St) – A budget-friendly option about a 10-minute walk away.

Metered street parking is also available in the area, but it can be limited on event nights, so it’s best to arrive early or opt for a parking garage.

Public transport 

If you want to be car-free for the evening and not worry about parking, then the venue is located in central downtown, meaning there are various transportation routes to get you to the show on time. The San Diego Civic Theatre is well served by public transportation. Many guests report the ease of use of the San Diego Trolley — a modern tram/light rail system that runs throughout the city. The Trolley’s Civic Center Station is next to the theater, with Blue, Orange, and Silver lines stopping there.

San Diego’s bus system is similarly handy. You can arrive just a block or two from the theater through many bus routes, depending on your starting point. Any stops around Broadway & 3rd Ave are particularly close to the theater. You can also jump off around the Gaslamp Quarter using the city’s hop-on-hop-off tourist buses.

Trolley
